Star Wars Jedi: Survivor retains many of the gameplay mechanics from its predecessor while adding new ones. According to game director Stig Asmussen, Cal Kestis may employ five "completely realistic"
positions in the lightsaber fight. The single and double blade lightsaber stances from Fallen Order are back, plus the extraordinary dual-wield single blade strike from Fallen Order is developed into its own fully playable lightsaber stance. A new, heavier Kylo Ren-inspired crossguard lightsaber style has been added, requiring more confidence to utilise owing to its lengthier timing windows in blocking and parrying opposing blows.
These various postures are intended to be utilised against distinct sorts of adversaries, according to Asmussen, and will force the player to "choose what the best weapon of choice is." A new Force stasis ability, similar to Kylo Ren's in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, allows the player to freeze adversaries and blaster bolts in mid-air.
Release Date
The game was supposed to be released on March 17, however Respawn Entertainment postponed it to fix issues and will now be released a little more than a month later on April 28.
